Cowher, age 92, of Tyrone died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 7:10 p.m. at Tyrone Hospital. He was born June 18, 1913 in Tyrone, the son of Raymond Martin and Mary Helen Marthouse Cowher Sr. On August 3, 1946 at St. Matthew's Church he was married to Eva J. Levonick who survives. Also surviving is one son, Don and wife Lorna of Yorba Linda, CA; four grandchildren: Garrett and Dallas Cowher of CA; Jody, wife of Melvin Renney of Ebensburg and Shelley Cowher of Altoona; one great-grandson, Hunter Renney of Ebensburg. Also surviving are three sisters: Christine Tennis, Agnes Miller and Mary Harris, all of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond in 1996 and an infant son, Dennis. He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, of the Knights of Columbus and Howard Gardener Post No. 281 American Legion. He was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1932 and served in the US Army during World War II. He had been employed in the boiler room at Westvaco. Funeral Mass for Raymond M. Cowher will be Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Joseph T. Orr as celebrant. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, December 30, 2005
