William Lee Cowher, Sr., 68, of Chalk Hill, formerly of Edgewood, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 29, 1935 in Tyrone. A son of the late W. Harry and Alma (Ross) Cowher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Rev. Merle S. Cowher and Harold L. Cowher and a brother-in-law and wife Paul and Janet Bright. "Bill" was retired from ICF Kaiser Engineering Group of Pittsburgh and a member of the AMVETS Post 103, a member of the Masonic Lodge 494 F & AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish rite and Pittsburgh Consistory. He was the past president of the Deer Lake Improvement Association. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn A. (Donohue) Cowher; a son, William L. (Bill) Cowher Jr. of Swissvale; a daughter, Linda Bould and husband Patrick of Sewickley; grandchildren, Rachel Lee Bould and Patrick "Harrison" Bould and a sister, Lois Crowell and husband Jules of Tipton. Friends will be received in the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home, Hopwood, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m. the hour of the service with Rev. Thomas Whitehead and Rev. Larry Crowell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset View Cemetery. Donations may be made c/o 32 Masonic Leaning Centers, 33 Marrett Rd., Lexington, MA 02421. AMVETS Post 103 will accord military rites at graveside. Masonic Lodge #651 will conduct services Friday at 7:30 p.m.. Crawford Funeral Home, Hopwood is in charge of the arrangements.
