On Sunday, a little after 12 o'clock, Mrs. Cox, wife of John Cox, Esq., and mother of William Cox, brakeman on the Branch train, departed this life, aged 62 years. The deceased was a lady who in her lifetime was loved and respected by all for her amiable and Christian disposition. She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for forty-nine years. The funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon and proceed to the Presbyterian cemetery. Yesterday afternoon the remains of Mrs. Cox were conveyed to the Methodist Episcopal church, and in the absence of the pastor, Rev. D. H. Barron preached a most appropriate sermon, after which the remains were taken to the Presbyterian cemetery, followed by a large number of relatives and friends, who felt that she had entered that blessed rest where there is no sorrow, pain or death.
