David Samuel Creamer, a former councilman of Gaysport, and well known moulder of the county, died on Sunday evening at 6:55 o'clock at his home, 303 Newry street, Gaysport, of a complication of diseases, after a protracted illness extending over three years. Deceased was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Maria Creamer, of Hollidaysburg, and was born at Richmond, Va., October 22, 1860. He came to Hollidaysburg with his parents when a young boy and had resided here ever since. When a young man he learned the trade of a moulder at the foundry of McLanahan & Stone at Gaysport and worked for a number of years for the Pennsylvania Railroad company, being employed at the soft iron foundry at South Altoona when compelled to give up work several years ago by reason of failing health. Mr. Creamer served two terms as a member of the Gaysport council and was ever a progressive citizen, taking a deep interest in all affairs of the borough. He was a kind and loving husband and father and bore the highest respect of the whole community. In politics he was a staunch Republican. He was a consistent member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Hollidaysburg. Twenty-eight years ago he was married to Miss Laura Gildea, of Gaysport, by whom he is survived, together with two twin sons, David and Frank, at home; also by his mother and by these brothers and sisters: Harry, of Altoona; Edward, of Wilkins burg; Joseph, George, sealer weights and measures [sic]; Lloyd and Mrs. Calvin Keller, of Hollidaysburg. Creamer will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock with mass at St. Mary's Roman Catholic church. Interment will be made at Greenlawn cemetery.
