CREIGHTON Of 2116 Eleventh street, retired Middle division engineer, died at 1.55 o'clock yesterday morning at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Creighton was born at Reed's gap, Juniata county, the son of Calvin and Rebecca (Shower) Creighton. He retired Oct. 1, 1947, after more than 48 years of service. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Annie (Weston) Creighton; a son, John C. Creighton, jr., of Altoona; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Hyatt of Altoona and Mrs. Ina Barnaby of Los Angeles; Five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one brother, Ira J. Creighton of Altoona. Mr. Creighton was a member of the Fairview Methodist church, of Logan Lodge, F. and A. M., of Harrisburg consistory and Jaffa Shrine, as well as a member of the Altoona lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Friends will be received at Mauk and Yates funeral home after 6 o'clock this evening until 11 o'clock Monday morning, and thereafter at Fairview Methodist church. Altoona Mirror, January 5, 1951
