CRIDER {photo] Heart Attack Fatal to Logan Valley Employe William Clair Crider, aged 58, of 2709 Sixth avenue, daylight dispatcher for the Altoona & Logan Valley Electric Railway company, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the Union Memorial hospital, Baltimore, Md., following a heart attack. Mr. Crider had been visiting a son, Clair W. Crider of Baltimore, when he was stricken Monday evening and taken to a Baltimore hospital. He had worked last for the Logan Valley April 5, when he suffered a heart attack. Two weeks ago he and Mrs. Crider left for Harrisburg to visit a son, Harold B. Crider, and from there they left on Sunday for Baltimore. Mr. Crider was born April 10, 1890 in Altoona, the son of Herman and Emma (Welch) Crider. A veteran of 39 years' service with the Logan Valley, Mr. Crider had been serving as daylight dispatcher since 1930. He started work with the company in 1909 as a conductor and later became a motorman. He was superintendent of transportation for two years for the Johnstown Traction company, but returned to the Logan Valley in 1925 as dispatcher at Lakemont park. Mr. Crider was well known for his activities with the Blair County Motor club. He was a member of Hiram lodge, F. and A.M., the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Jaffa Shrine and the Harrisburg consistory and a member of the Simpson Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Meta Auman; two sons, Clair of Baltimore and Harold of Middletown; three grandchildren and a brother Fred of Cleveland, O. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
