CRONAN Of 823 Sixth avenue, died at the Altoona hospital at 12.15 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a brief illness. He was born in Gallitzin Dec. 26, 1884, son of Patrick and Mary Ann (Seymore) Cronan. He was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic church and was a freight conductor for the Pennsylvania railroad, retiring in 1953 after 47 years' service. Surviving are his wife, Colletta (Leap) Cronan; the following children, Mrs. Ann Drop of Irwin, Pa., Joseph P. of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Mary Margaret Smith and John E., both of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren, three brothers, John Cronan of Cresson, Fabian of New York and Medard of Cleveland, O. Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, February 10, 1954
