All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ ITALIAN KILLED AT BLAIR FOUR QUARRY Dominic Cucinotta, Aged 32, Meets Instant Death When a Boulder Crushes Him Dominic Cucinotta, aged 32, a quarryman employed at the Blair Limestone company quarry, Blair Four, on the Pennsy Petersburg branch, was instantly killed at 11.45 a.m. yesterday, when a rock fell upon him. The man was at work in the bottom of the quarry. The huge boulder, loosed by recent rains, was dislodged near the top of a steep lodge and crashed down on the Italian before he had time to avoid it. The boulder weighed more than 1,000 pounds. Cucinotta's skull was crushed terribly and he was dead when fellow workers reached him. The body was taken to Williamsburg by Funeral Director H. R. Snively. Deputy Coroner C. T. Rothrock, of this city, as summoned and decided that an inquest was unnecessary, after visiting the scene and going over the ground. Cucinotta was single. He had been an employee of the company for some time. The funeral will be held at Williamsburg later in the week. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday Morning, March 11, 1919
