"Cuppy" Cupp, age 54, formerly of 5 West 14th Street, Tyrone, and a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home died at the Veterans Home Sunday evening, March 2, 2003. He was born March 29, 1948 in Tyrone, the son of the late Perry Jesse and Alice Louise (Givler) Cupp. He was never married. He is survived by two sisters, Elaine Landers and her husband John of Sebring, Fla., Sara "Sally" Ray and her husband Dale of Hinsdale, N.Y. He is also survived by five nieces, Marcie Kincaid of Texas, Sue Bish of Wyoming, Crystal Weyer of Tyrone, Vicki Landers of New Jersey and Karen Antley of Florida and three nephews, Dwayne Ray of Maine, Matt Ray of Texas and Clayton Ray of New York. He was preceded in death by a sister Sherry I. Bridges. He was a 1966 graduate of Tyrone High School and was a Vietnam Veteran serving four years in the Navy. He was a member of the Tyrone American Legion Post #281, a member of the Citizens Fire Company and a former member of the Neptune Fire Company. He was a member of the Central District Volunteers Firemens Association. He coached baseball in the Tyrone Minor League for 25 years. He had been employed as a school crossing guard for the Tyrone School District for several years and was also a security guard at PPG for the Hennaman Agency. Funeral services and Flag Presentation will be held Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Snyder Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, March 4, 2003
