Curtis Young Matron of Sinking Valley Died on Sunday On Armistice Day afternoon at three o'clock, Mrs. Florence E. Curtis of Sinking Valley passed into the life beyond. Florence Ellen Curtis was born November 7, 1895, the daughter of Eli W. and Margaret Butler States. On June 7, 1917, at Altoona, she was united in marriage with Clarence E. Curtis, who with two sons, John and James at home, survive her death. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister: Benjamin W. States, of Altoona; John P. States, Blue Knob and Mrs. Paul Baker, of East Freedom. Funeral services will be held at the Sinking Valley Lutheran Church on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Reverend John P. Harris, of Grace Baptist Church, assisted by Reverend Dr. Neighbour. Interment in the Lutheran Cemetery. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., November 12, 1934, page 6
