Mr. James Crozier, of Houtzdale, Clearfield county, came to this city some months ago and obtained work in the company shops here, having engaged board at Mrs. Maggie Gracey's Fifth avenue and Fifth street. A few weeks since, during the prevalence of typhoid fever in that ward - the Eighth - he was stricken down with the dread disease, and after being removed to Mrs. Brumbaugh's, Tenth avenue and Seventh street, he died on Thursday evening. The announcement of his death was sent to Houtzdale and upon an answer being received the following facts were developed. The name of the deceased was not Crozier; his real name was Cutler - John Cutler. He had a wife and two children at or near Houtzdale. His relatives came on to this city after his death, for the purpose of taking his remains to Houtzdale for interment, but upon application the Pennsylvania railroad Co. - on account of the disease which was the cause of his death - refused to transport the remains, and therefore they were taken back to the place of his nativity on a wagon and will be given burial to-day.
