He was born at Shingletown, Centre county, on July 29, 1863, a son of Andrew and Sarah Dale. He resided in Juniata until five years ago, when he was retired. Mr. Dale entered the railroad service on Dec. 21, 1904, as a carpenter and he was retired from the eastbound repair tracks, Altoona yards, on Aug. 1, 1933, after twenty-six years' service. Surviving are his wife, Maggie; one son, Harry Dale, of Altoona; one daughter, Mrs. Will Smith of Cleveland, O., and one granddaughter. He was a member of the Williamsburg Presbyterian church and the P.R.R. relief. The body will be at Williamsburg until Friday night and will be brought to Altoona Saturday. DALE - Funeral services for the late James L. Dale of 414 Riverside street, Williamsburg, will be conducted by Rev. Samuel R. MacPhee, of Williamsburg Presbyterian church. Services at the home Friday at 7:30 p.m. Further services at 2:30 o'clock Saturday at the home of son, Harry Dale, 3903 Burgoon Road, South Altoona. Interment in Grandview cemetery.
