Daughenbaugh, Sr., age 82, of RD 3, Tyrone, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 5:30 a.m. at his residence. He was born in Tyrone on October 2, 1922, the son of Paul and Catherine Dillon Daughenbaugh and on December 2, 1950 at Clearfield was married to Anna Lehner who survives. Also surviving are two sons: James S. Daughenbaugh Jr. and wife Pamela of RD 3, Tyrone and Warren E. "Buddy" Daughenbaugh of Tyrone; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother: June Burket of Harrisburg; Myra Dixon of IN; Thomas Williams of RD 3, Tyrone and Frieda Slemmer of TX. Mr. Daughenbaugh was a member of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. He had served as Sunday School Superintendent, a Trustee, a member of the Administrative Board, a member of the Commission on Education and taught the teenage Sunday School class. He was a member of Lodge No. 494 F. & A. M. and had served as Past Master and had held various other offices. He was a Past Master of the Bald Eagle Grange and was currently serving as Master. He was serving as a Snyder Township Supervisor, a post he had held for the past 12 years. Mr. Daughenbaugh was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1942 and retired in 1984 as a millwright from Chicago Rivet and Machine with 32 years service. Following his retirement he was a school bus driver for the Tyrone Area School District for 15 years. He was a veteran of service with the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters. Funeral service for James S. Daughenbaugh Sr. will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Michele Somerville officiating. Interment will be made in Baughman Cemetery, Snyder Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, RD 3, Box 184, Tyrone, PA 16686.
