On Saturday afternoon at 2.25 o'clock J. Harry Daugherty, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Daugherty, of 1006 Sixteenth avenue, died of inflammation of the brain. He was born August 13, 1881, and was, therefore, 17 years, 10 months and 10 days old. He had been confined to his room for about a week. Besides his father and mother he is survived by one brother, Clarence, and three sisters, Mrs. Emile Schmitt, Mrs. Harry M. Glass, of Altoona, and Miss Alice, at home. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Sunday school and of the Boys' Brigade of the same church. The esteem in which he was held by his many friends is shown by the beautiful floral offerings that have been sent to his home. Among them are a harp, "Gates Ajar," a pillow, a wreath and several bouquets of flowers. The design of the "Gates Ajar" was presented by the men at the cottage at Daugherty's mines. Funeral services will be conducted at the house at 2 o'clock p.m. to- day by Rev. Henry Howard Stiles, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church. The interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
