Mrs. Davis, wife of Lewis Davis, fell asleep in death Tuesday night about the hour of 12 o'clock. Mrs. Davis has been an invalid for several years, at times suffering extreme pain. On several occasions her lamp of life flickered and seemed to go entirely out yet she would rally again and be spared to her husband and little ones. Last fall she visited her old home near Harrisburg, thinking that early associates and scenes of other days might have a beneficial effect. Whilst at home the old family physician was called in, but no comfort was given her, on the contrary he informed her that earthly skill was of no avail for her. She returned to her family and home resigned to her fate. On Sunday last she went to a neighbor's, walked through the garden, admiring the flowers and drinking in nature's beauty and loveliness. On Tuesday morning she took to her bed, suffering intensely until death relieved her and took her unto her Father in heaven at the early age of 40 years. Mrs. Davis was a good, kind and amiable woman, an affectionate wife and loving mother.
