Davis, one of Altoona's oldest residents died on Saturday morning. She was born near Warriors Mark, on June 18, 1827. Her maiden name was Meadville. She passed many years of her life at Tipton and had lived in Altoona about thirty-five years. She was twice married. Her first husband was Millard Closson, who died April 7, 1848. She was wedded the second time to James Davis, who died thirty- seven years ago. Two sons are living to the first union and one to the second, namely: Graham Closson, of Chicago; Thomas F. Closson, of Bellwood; and James Davis, the well-known passenger conductor on the Henrietta branch. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral took place at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and interment was made at Tipton. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., January 28, 1907
