All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JAMES HARRY DAVISON A well known resident of the city died at 4:20 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Richelieu motel, Chestnut avenue and Eighth street, where he was employed as office clerk, of pneumonia. He contracted a heavy cold several days ago and it terminated in the disease which caused his death. Deceased was born in Antrim township, Franklin county, -- October 30, 1844. He was reared and educated at his native home and resided in that vicinity until 1874, when he came to Altoona and has since resided here. He followed the occupation of painter the first five years of his residence here, and then entered the employment of the N.J. Wolfe estate, where he remained about twenty years. He then engaged in the coat business, which he followed until about two years ago, when he became a clerk of the Richelieu hotel. He was well known about the city and was esteemed by a wide circle of friends. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Altoona Rod and Gun club. He was also a veteran of the civil war, having served in the twenty-second Pennsylvania cavalry. He is survived by one brother, W. G. Davison of Chambersburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Hostetter of Green Castle and Mrs. C.F. Bonner of Bedford. The remains were taken on the 11:43 train this morning to Green Castle for interment.
