Lorraine Dawson, age 93, of 1747 Adams Avenue, Graystone Court, Tyrone died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at 7:50 a.m. at Epworth Manor. She was born Sept. 14, 1911 in Tyrone, the daughter of Harry D. Thompson and Olive Merritts Comly. She was first married to Richard Patrick O'Brien who died in 1948 and on Aug. 6, 1951 she was married to Earl B. Dawson who survives. Also surviving is one son, William R. O'Brien and wife Sue of Tyrone; two grandchildren- Donna L. O'Brien of Tyrone and Patrick E. O'Brien and wife Leanne of O'Fallon, IL and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dawson was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, of the Ivy Sewing Club and had belonged to the Band Mothers. Prior to her retirement she had worked at the Shaffer Stores, Engelman Florist, Lugg and Edmonds, Gardner's Candy Store and Gardner's Prom Peanuts and Candle Sales. Funeral service for M. Lorraine Dawson will be Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor T. M. Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Blair Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Care Assurance Fund, Epworth Manor, 951 Washington Avenue, Tyrone, PA 16686.
