HANNAH DEAN. Mrs. Hannah Dean, widow of Abraham Dean, died suddenly at her home, 205 Third avenue, Saturday night of heart trouble after an illness of but a few hours. She had attended the Gable & Co. anniversary on Thursday and contracted a slight cold. She retired shortly after 8 o'clock after she had complained to her daughter, Miss Eunice, of pains in the chest. Fearing her mother might be contracting pneumonia she went to the office of Dr. Frank Keagy, on Fourth street, and on returning discovered her mother had passed away. Dr. Galbraith was summoned pronouncing death was due to heart trouble. Deceased was born in Huntingdon county, April 10, 1842, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Norris. She came to Altoona shortly after her marriage to Abraham Dean and has since resided in this city. Her husband died twenty-three years ago. A conscientious Christian woman, Mrs. Dean was a consistent member of the Trinity Reformed church, and was quite active in church affairs. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Miss Eunice, at home; Mrs. Jennie McGarvey, of Shirleysburg; Mrs. Anna Seaman, of Wilmore; Mrs. Elmira Anderson, of Williamsburg; Mrs. Agnes Parks, of Grafton; Mrs. Emma Meader, of 109 third avenue, and Ellsworth, of this city; Oscar, of Huntingdon, and Whitmer, of Pittsburg. She is also survived by twenty- seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Samuel and William Norris, Mrs. Sara Anne Kyler, Mrs. Kathryn Grove, Mrs. Mary A. Crownover and Jane Norris, of Grafton, and Thomas Norris and Mrs. Eliza Shinafelt, of Huntingdon. Funeral services will be held from the late home Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Bair, supply pastor of the Trinity Reformed church, to speak. Wednesday morning the funeral cortege will go to Grafton, where services will be held in the White Church late that afternoon.
