Defibaugh, of 400 Twenty-first avenue, chaplain of Fred C. Ward post No. 468, G.A.R., for many years, died at 11:40 o'clock yesterday morning of heart trouble. He had been ill six weeks and was one of the best known residents of the city. He was the son of David and Pauline Defibaugh and came to this city in 1870. He entered the employ of the Pennsy and served the company for thirty-five years. The veteran was twice married, his first bride being Miss Margaret Downs, of Blacklog, Centre county. She died in 1905. Mr. Defibaugh was wedded to Miss Margaret Manning November 27, 1908, in Harrisburg. He was a member of the Grace Methodist Episcopal church, Fred C. Ward post No. 468, and Chickalacamoose tribe No. 364, I.O.R.M. He is survived by his wife and four daughters - Mrs. F. S. Fox, Mrs. E. J. Miller, Mrs. Mabel Williams, Miss Florence Defibaugh, of Wilkes-Barre, and seven grandchildren. Two brothers, Marshall, of Pittsburg, and Watson, of this city, also survive. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Grace Methodist Episcopal church. Public services will be conducted by Rev. D. D. Kauffman, assisted by Rev. J. E. Brenneman, of the Fairview Methodist church. Private burial will be made in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, November 29, 1916
