Defibaugh died suddenly yesterday morning at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his son, M. B. Defibaugh, of Juniata Gap, of heart failure. He was born on August 8, 1847, in Wolesburg, Bedford county, and resided in Altoona for thirty-five years, living latterly at the home of his son at Juniata Gap. He was a paper hanger and painter by trade and up until late years had followed this trade. Surviving are his wife, two sons, M. B. Defibaugh, of Juniata Gap, and A. R., of Salemsville; also one sister, Mrs. Thomas Staley, of Everett, and one brother, Preston, of Bedford, and another brother in the west. He was a member of the Second Lutheran church. The funeral will be held from the residence of L. A. Harvey, 508 Twenty-third street, owing to the illness of the daughter- in-law of the deceased, at whose house he lived. The time for the services will be 10 o'clock Monday morning, with interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Saturday morning, September 7, 1918, page 10
