He was born at Westport, Sept. 12, 1893, a son of Joseph R. and Frances (Bossert) DeHaas. Mr. DeHaas was a veteran of World war No. 1 and was associated with King Rhodes in the restaurant business in Hollidaysburg. Surviving are his wife, Esther (Hatch) Elder DeHaas, two sons and one daughter, Marvin, Inez and Joseph; three brothers and two sisters, William R. and Clair of Altoona and Bossert of Bellefonte, Mrs. Florence Sterner of Harrisburg and Mrs. Mabel Berry of Beech Creek. He was a member of the Fairview Methodist church. Friends will be received at the home. DeHAAS - Funeral services for James Floyd DeHaas of 2001 Eleventh street, will be held at 2.30 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Fairview Methodist church by Rev. John R. Leatherbury. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Friends will be received at the home from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock Wednesday. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, May 21, 1946
