All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ HARRY LEONARD DEITCH Aged 49, of 1812 Eleventh street, a shop inspector in the Altoona works, died suddenly at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home of a heart attack. He spoke of not feeling well yesterday morning and had been treated by a physician but his condition did not appear serious prior to the fatal attack. He was born in Lock Haven on May 5, 1885, a son of William H. and Annie (Duncan) Deitch, and grew to young manhood there. When 18 years old he entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company at Pitcairn, being located also at Harrisburg and other points before coming to Altoona ten years ago. Mr. Deitch worked out of the general shop inspector's office at Juniata. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Verna (Gwin) Deitch, one son and two daughters, Russell, Adda Belle and Martha Jane, all at home; his parents, one brother, Charles Deitch, one sister, Mrs. John Kamp, and one foster sister, Mrs. Thurman Earon, all of Lock Haven. Mr. Deitch was a member of the First Presbyterian church of the city, of Mountain lodge, F. and A. M., and the Harrisburg consistory. Funeral services will be held at the home at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Mirror, October 11, 1934
