All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ CHARLES FRANKLIN DELL Well known resident of Allegheny township, near Duncansville, died Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home after being bedfast for the past twenty- eight months. He had been totally blind for that length of time and was afflicted with multiple ailments. He was born west of New Enterprise, Bedford county, on Nov. 26, 1865, a son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Brown) Dell. He was the last member of his family. After spending his earlier life in Bedford county, he came to Duncansville at the age of 21 years to take a job in the rolling mill formerly located there and ever since was a resident of that vicinity. He was united in marriage with Miss Clara G. Piper of Duncansville on June 21, 1893, the ceremony being performed in the parsonage of the Duncansville Lutheran church, with the late Rev. Isaac Krider, D.D., officiating. He is survived by his wife and these children: Harvey F. Dell and Arthur E. Dell, both of Duncansville, Roy A. Dell of Maple Hollow road and Miss Ethel Dell, at home, also by nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. A son, Clarence E. Dell, preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 1932. Mr. Dell was a plasterer by trade but was forced to retire ten years ago because of failing health. Earlier in life he followed farming as well as plastering and in later years again devoted some time to farming activities. He was a member of the Duncansville Lutheran church. For a number of years he served as the Republican county committeeman from his district of Allegheny township. Friends are being received at the home near Duncansville. DELL - Funeral services for Charles F. Dell will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 in the Duncansville Lutheran church by Rev. C. B. Harman. Burial in Carson Valley cemetery.
