All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ GRANDMOTHER OF BRIDE DIES IN MERCY HOSPITAL Mrs. Kate Delozier of 324 Howard avenue, who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage yesterday noon while seated in the Broad Avenue Presbyterian church for the wedding of her granddaughter, Miss Kathryn Elaine Delozier, died at 6.35 o'clock this morning at Mercy hospital. Her condition had been regarded as critical by hospital authorities from the time of her admission. Mrs. Delozier collapsed and was removed from the church to the hospital just prior to the entrance of the bride for the wedding ceremony, performed at 12.30 o'clock. Mrs. Delozier was born near Hollidaysburg, a daughter of Martin and Amanda (Lang) Baird. Her husband, Dilliam [sic] Delozier, a retired blacksmith of the Juniata shops, died on Feb. 22, 1937. Surviving are one son, Dean B. Delozier of the city; one brother and one sister, James Baird and Mrs. Vicey Tate, with whom Mrs. Delozier resided, and three grandchildren, Kathryn Elaine, now Mrs. Marion M. Richards, Dean, jr., and Nancy Delozier. Mrs. Delozier died on her son's birthday anniversary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Friends will be received at the Jones funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. DELOZIER - Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Delozier of 324 Howard avenue will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the E. W. Jones funeral home in charge of Rev. R. Bradford Jones of the Broad Avenue Presbyterian church. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends are being received at the E. W. Jones funeral home. Altoona Mirror, August 7, 1943
