Mrs. Florence Belle Gerst Denniston, wife of John Denniston, died at 10 o'clock last evening, at her home on Allegheny street, of a complication of diseases, after an extended illness. Deceased was the daughter of Captain Ephrain and Anna Gerst, and was born at Williamsburg, but had resided in Hollidaysburg practically all of her life. Mrs. Denniston was a member of the First Presbyterian church and of the Presbyterian Guild, always taking an interest in all affairs of the church. She was a good wife and mother, ever attending faithfully to her home duties, and was possessed of a kindly disposition, that won her many friends, continually performing acts of kindness especially in cases of sickness, among friends and neighbors. She is survived by her husband and two children, J. Gerst Denniston, engine dispatcher at Hollidaysburg round house of the P.R.R., and Mrs. Martha D. Leet; also by one grandson, Joseph D. Leet, of Hollidaysburg. Her mother survives and these brothers and sisters: W. C. and Nettie M. Gerst, of Altoona; E. M. and Mrs. Edgar C. Megley, of East End, Pittsburg; S. T. of Williamsburg. Public funeral services will be held at her late home at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. Private interment in Presbyterian cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. John Denniston, notice of whose death appeared in yesterday's Hollidaysburg obituary column, will take place Saturday afternoon. Public funeral service will be held at her late home on Allegheny street, Hollidaysburg, at 2:30. Private interment in the Presbyterian cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday morning, February 23, 1917 A Funeral Service. The funeral services of Mrs. John Denniston were held at her late home on Allegheny street yesterday afternoon and were attended by a number of friends and relatives of the deceased. There were many beautiful floral tributes, the last gifts of loving friends. The services were conducted by Rev. William H. Orr, pastor of the Presbyterian church, who delivered a very impressive and feeling sermon. Appropriate hymns were sung by Misses Alice Moore and Louisa Kloss. At the conclusion of the services the cortege proceeded to the Presbyterian cemetery, where interment was made. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday morning, February 26, 1917
