The daughter of John and Margaret Ziegler Denny, Sister entered the Congregation in 1954 from Sacred Heart Parish in Altoona, PA. Sister Marie Corde's ministry as an educator spanned 40 years and included St. Joseph School, New Kensington; St. Canice School, Pittsburgh; St. Clement School, Johnstown; St. Mary School, New Castle; St. John School, Uniontown: Blessed Sacrament School, Natrona Heights; and St. Caietan School, Monessen. Sister served as Principal from 1977-2000 at St. Joseph School, New Kensington. She has been Telephone Systems Manager at the Motherhouse in Baden since 2000. Sister Marie Corde is survived by a sister, Ann Denny, a nephew Mark Denny and his wife Sharon, a grand-niece Hannah of Altoona and cousins. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Sisters of ST. Joseph Motherhouse in Baden. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 3:30 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will following the Sisters Cemetery on the Motherhouse grounds.
