Denny, of 2207 Eleventh avenue, died at 8.45 o'clock yesterday morning, following a lengthy illness due to an accident in which he suffered injury some time ago. He was born at Gallitzin, in 1863, the son of Richard, deceased, and Charlotte Denny. At the age of 21 he came to Altoona and entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company as a brakeman. Later he resigned and had been for many years in the coal business. He was married June 27, 1888, to Miss Ellen Phillips, who survives with the following children: Charles, Thomas, jr., Gallitzin and Charlotte, all at home. He is also survived by his mother and the following brothers and sisters: Sister M. Elizabeth, of the Sisters of Mercy, of Cresson; Edward, of this city; George, of Pittsburg; Harry, Oscar and Victor, of Cresson, and Mrs. Albert Sutton, of Chest Springs. He was a member of the Altar society and the Knights of St. George, the Holy Name society, and St. Leo's Catholic church. The funeral will be held with requiem mass at St. Leo's church, at 9 o'clock Saturday morning, followed by interment in Calvary cemetery.
