He had been in failing health for the past year. He was a son of Silas and Mary Detwiler and was born at Royer on March 2, 1887. He was united in marriage with Lucy B. Irwin, who died on Feb. 24, 1940. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Zimmerman, Mrs. Lucy Mattern and Mrs. Frances Stiffler(?), all of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Martha Merritts of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Clive, William and John Detwiler, Mrs. Myra Johnson, Mrs. Florence Malone, Mrs. Ida Treese, Mrs. Mary Burke and Mrs. Sue Pressler. Prior to the war Mr. Detwiler was employed at the Berwind-White plant in East Hollidaysburg and later was employed in Baltimore. Friends will be received at the Zimmerman home after 7 o'clock this evening. DETWILER - Private funeral services will be conducted for Andrew Detwiler, Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs. Mary Zimmerman, 1316 Walnut street, Hollidaysburg in charge of Rev. G. B. Harman. Private interment in Greenlawn cemetery. Friends will be received at the Zimmerman home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, June 3, 1946
