BERTHA DETWILER Of 1428 Washington avenue died last evening at 8.45 o'clock after a lingering illness following a broken hip. She was born in Altoona on March 12, 1876, the daughter of Herman and Amanda (Stiffler) Diehl. She was the wife of Lawrence B. Detwiler. Surviving are two sons, William D., of West Loop, Hollidaysburg; John of Altoona; one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Gallaway of Altoona; one grandson, William Detwiler of West Loop; and one sister, Mrs. Laurine Thompson of Swissvale. She was a member of the First Methodist church and the auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Altoona. Friends may call the Mauk & Yates funeral home. DETWILER - Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Estelle Detwiler of 1428 Washington avenue, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mauk and Yates funeral home by Rev. Ressler Shultz, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment in Lutheran cemetery, Newry. Friends are being received at the Mauk and Yates funeral home.
