DETWILER Of 1428 Washington avenue, died at 6.49 o'clock last evening at the Altoona hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1880, at Rockhill Furnace, a son of John A. and Sarah (Black) Detwiler. His wife, Bertha Detwiler, died Oct. 8, 1946. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. B.J. Galloway of Altoona; two sons, William D. of Lakemont and John J. of Indianapolis, Ind., one grandson, William A. Detwiler of Lakemont, and two sisters, Mrs. George Booher of Rockhill Furnace and Mrs. Harry Stewart of Washington, D.C. Mr. Detwiler retired Dec. 4, 1940, as an engineman on the Pittsburgh division. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad Veterans Employes' association of the Pittsburgh division and the B. of F. and L.E., 287. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home after 6 o'clock this evening. DETWILER - Funeral services for Lawrence Barton Detwiler of 1428 Washington avenue will be held Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the Mauk & Yates funeral home in charge of Rev. J. Resler Shultz.
