All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm KILLED ON THE RAILROAD. - Early yesterday morning the locomotive hauling the Day express train eastward bound run down a man named John Diamond, a former resident of Altoona, at a point near Corney station on the Pittsburgh's division. The unfortunate man was a flagman employed on a freight train, and but a moment before the express train, __ thundering along he had stepped down from his caboose car, the train to __ was attached having been run in on a __. Deceased was killed instantly, his body being frightfully mutilated. The train was stopped, the remains placed on board and brought as far as Latrobe, at which place an inquest was held later in the day.
