DICK A former well known resident of Juniata, died at his home, 235 Poplar street, Roaring Spring, at 12.05 o'clock Saturday morning of a paralytic stroke. He was born on Aug. 11, 1869, in Taylor township, a son of David and Catherine (Lower) Dick, and in 1896 was united in marriage with Miss Clara Lynn, who died in 1921. In 1928 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Elizabeth Howard of Roaring Spring, who survives, along with two daughters both to the first marriage, Mary and Martha of the city, another daughter, Janise, at home, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Pearl Geisel of Johnstown. One sister, Mrs. Annie Beightal of Jamestown, N.Y., also survives while a brother, David L. Dick, died in September of this year. While a resident of Juniata, Mr. Dick was quite active in community affairs, serving as president of the borough school board, and held membership in the Trinity Lutheran church for many years. For the past eight years he had resided in Roaring Spring, holding membership in St. Luke's Lutheran church and the Men's Bible class and serving as senior member of the church council. Mr. Dick was employed as a carpenter in the Altoona works. Funeral services were held this afternoon in St. Luke's church. Interment was made in Greenlawn cemetery, Roaring Spring.
