All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ WILLIAM DICK Well known Roaring Spring citizen, died suddenly yesterday afternoon in an apartment building owned by him on Girard street, just off East Main street. Mr. Dick was formerly in the garage business but retired four years ago because of failing health due to a heart ailment. Yesterday afternoon about 2.30 o'clock he left his home at 719 Walnut street, saying that he was going to the apartment building to do some painting. When he did not return at 5.30, friends went to the building, which they found locked. A door was forced and Mr. Dick was found dead, he evidently having expired about 4.30 from a heart attack. He was the son of Samuel B. Dick, now deceased, and Mrs. Harriet Garver Dick and was born in Roaring Spring on Sept. 22, 1894. He was united in marriage with Maud L. Yingling of Rockingham, N.C., on Sept. 6, 1934, who survives, with one son, Paul Franklin, at home, and one daughter by a former marriage, Miss Leonore Dick of Bellwood; his mother, residing in Roaring Spring, and these brothers and sisters: Edward, Joseph and Hobert, all of Bakers Summit, Mrs. Haze Lingenfelter of Claysburg, Mrs. Mary Gates of Altoona, Walter Dick, Mrs. Golda Feather, Mrs. Irene Myers, Miss Cora Dick and Mrs. Paul Isenberg, all of Roaring Spring; one step- daughter, Mrs. Grace Herron of Roaring Spring, and two half-brothers and one half-sister, Arthur and Claude Dick, both of Roaring Spring, and Mrs. Rosie Martin of Port Matilda. Mr. Dick was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church. Friends are being received at the home. DICK - Funeral services for William Dick will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home at 719 Walnut street, Roaring Spring, in charge of his pastor, Rev. C.E. Naugle, assisted by Rev. W.W. Banks. Interment in the Greenlawn cemetery at Roaring Spring. Friends are being received at the home.
