Deceased was born at Conemaugh March 14, 1847, and had resided at Hollidaysburg for forty-six years, where he was employed as a local P.R.R. brakeman for thirty-seven years and nine months until retired by illness. Forty-six years ago he was married to Miss Anna Snyder, of Hollidaysburg. During the Civil War he answered his country's call and was a member of Company G Seventy-ninth regiment Pennsylvania infantry. It is quite a co-incidence that his half brother James Dickey, of Orbisonia, was drowned just twenty-seven years ago and at the same hour that Samuel passed away. Mr. Dickey was a member of the Hollidaysburg Methodist Episcopal church and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Besides his wife he is survived by five foster children as follows: Mrs. Wallace Booser and Mrs. Leslie Probst of Altoona, Mrs. Howard Cruse and Mrs. Chalmer Oldham of Hollidaysburg, Miss Sarah Prough at home, and a half sister Mrs. Sarah Hengst, Hollidaysburg. Funeral services will be held at his late home tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock with interment in the Presbyterian cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday morning, June 11, 1918, page 4 Card of Thanks. In this manner I wish to thank all neighbors and friends for their help and kindness during the illness and death of my husband, and also for the many floral tributes and for the automobile service rendered. Mrs. Samuel H. DICKEY
