Master John C., the 12-year-old son of William and Mary Jane Dietrich, of Catfish, in Blair township, died, after a brief and painful illness, the result of an accident yesterday morning at a quarter past 4 o'clock. The lad, who was a bright and promising boy, met with an accident a week ago last Friday evening while engaged at play at the Reservoir school house. He received an internal injury, which was not at the time considered of any serious importance. The boy himself made no complaint. Being a manly little fellow, if he suffered pain, he gave no outward evidence of it. It was not until the Tuesday following that attention was called to his condition, and his injuries at once assumed a serious aspect. The physicians did all in their power to alleviate his sufferings, but their efforts to relieve him were of no avail. He was a generous hearted, industrious boy and will be missed by his schoolmates and associates. The friends and neighbors deeply sympathize with the bereaved parents. The funeral will take place from the home of the parents on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, November 25, 1890
