George and Andrew Diffenbaugh, sons of Sylvester Diffenbaugh, were about half-past eight on Thursday evening playing in the Altoona rolling mill, notwithstanding orders and warnings against the practice, having escaped the vigilance of the watchman. Andrew was the younger of the brothers, and was aged nine years. In the course of their play, while George was running after Andrew, the latter fell near the "little mill" shearers, and struck his head on the fly-wheel that is attached, crushing his skull in above the eyes in a frightful manner. It was at first said the shears had clipped the top of his head off. The little fellow was carried to the house of his father, who lives but a short distance from the rolling mill. Nothing could be done for the boy that would assure his life being saved, and when Dr. Walker was called to attend the sufferer all he could do was to dress the wound. The little fellow lingered on for a couple of hours, when death relieved his sufferings. His funeral will take place at half past two o'clock this afternoon.
