On Saturday morning about 7 o'clock, Mrs. Mary Dingeldine, widow of the late Carl Dingeldine, residing in the neighborhood of Crawford avenue and Fifth street, fed her 1-year-old daughter Mary and laid it on the bed while she went to attend to some household duties. At about 10 o'clock it was discovered that the child was dead. Later in the day it was thought best by some parties that an inquest should be held and Coroner Glenn was accordingly notified. This was about 7 o'clock. He repaired to the scene and impannelled the following jury, which after viewing the remains and taking testimony rendered a verdict to the effect that the cause of the child's death was due to convulsions: Robert L. Gracy, Isaac Oatman, John Griffith, J. F. Meck, J. W. Fleming, jr., and Joseph Fisher. Altoona Tribune, February 7, 1889
