Dixon, a former well known Tyrone resident, who died Tuesday night at the home of his sister, Mrs. Louise Biggins, in Philadelphia, has caused deep regret among his many Tyrone friends. Mr. Dixon a good many years ago was superintendent of Morrison & Cass Paper company of Tyrone, now the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company, prior to which time he also superintended the mills of the D. M. Bare Paper company at Roaring Spring and the New York and Pennsylvania company at Lock Haven. He was well known in the paper industry, having prior to his death been superintendent of the Raubsville paper mill near Easton. He spent the past few months in Tyrone with Mrs. Dixon, at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard B. Calderwood, on Logan avenue, Mr. Dixon going to Philadelphia on business about a month ago. His wife and daughter were at his bedside when he passed away. He was aged 72 years. Besides Mrs. Calderwood, of Tyrone, he leaves a son, Edward C. Dixon, of Troy, N.Y., and a daughter, Mrs. Charles D. Waters, of Kenogami, Quebec, Can.; also two brothers and one sister: John W. and William F., and Mrs. Louise Biggins, all of Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held at the Biggins residence in Philadelphia Saturday. Interment at that place. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, February 15, 1917
