He was born in Millerstown, Huntingdon county, Jan. 27, 1875, a son of Samuel and Margaret (Wertz) Dixon, and was twice married, first to Ellen Gertrude Aultz, who died in 1918, and then to Elsie M. Aultz, who died in 1935. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. N. C. Rinker of Juniata; two sons, Jack Dixon of Huntingdon, R.D., and Capt. James Dixon, who is serving with the United States army of occupation in Germany; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Annie Stubbs of Manor Hill, Pa. A Spanish-American war veteran, Mr. Dixon was retired from the Pennsylvania railroad in 1939 after 35 years of service as a stationary engineer at the East Altoona Power plant. He was a charter member of the Altoona Moose lodge and held membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The body has been removed to the Mauk & Yates funeral home.
