He was born near East Freedom Aug. 21, 1893, a son of Abram and Mary (Dodson) Dodson, and married Minnie Myers in Cumberland, Md., May 26, 1915. Surviving are his wife, nine children, Mrs. Gladys Wiesinger of Johnstown, James Jr. of Lyme, Conn., Stanley R. of Rockwood RD 3, Clayton and Miles of East Freedom RD, Mrs. Rhoda Sickinger of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Mrs. Rhedla McCullough of Springfield, Va., Ernest of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Shirley Knisely of Queen; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a brother and sister, Egbert of Claysburg and Mrs. Irene Delozier of Roaring Spring. Mr. Dodson was a veteran of Army service in World War I and member of the Claysburg American Legion and Duncansville VFW. He retired in 1955 as a brakeman on the Middle Division, Pennsylvania Railroad. Friends will be received in the Barefoot Funeral Home, East Freedom, after 7 p.m. today. Altoona Mirror, 6/19/1970
