JOSEPH R. DODSON

Died yesterday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William E. Grimm 
of 5424 Grandview avenue, after an extended illness. Mr. Dodson was 
formerly of Roaring Spring, R.D. He was born Aug. 31, 1870, at Blue 
Knob, the son of Lydia (Ritchey) Burket. He married Miss Viola Helsel 
of Ore Hill March 4, 1900. His wife died Dec. 30, 1945. Surviving are 
three sons and six daughters, Levi H. and Harry V., both of Altoona; 
Charles H. of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. W. E. Grimm of Altoona, Mrs. Harry 
M. Miller of Seward, Mrs. Randolph Bowers of Roaring Spring, R.D., Mrs. 
Clarence Showalter of Brookes Milles, Mrs. Roy Smith of East Freedom 
and Mrs. Robert Jones of Claysburg; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Miller of 
Hollidaysburg; 31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Five sons 
preceded him in death. He was a member of the Albright Church of the 
Brethren. Friends will be received at the Grimm home.
