William Domer, who was recently taken to Dixmont asylum, died very suddenly at that institution last Saturday night. The remains will be taken to Elizabeth Furnace on day express to-day and it is probable that the funeral will take place to-morrow. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, March 24, 1891 Will Be Buried To-Day. The remains of William Domer, a notice of whose sudden death appeared in yesterday's TRIBUNE, were taken to his late home, near Elizabeth Furnace, on day express yesterday, and the funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock. It will be in charge of the Bellwood post, Grand Army of the Republic, which will be assisted by Rev. Peter, of the Lutheran church, and Rev. Forgeus, of Bellwood. Mr. Dormer [sic] was born at the homestead near Elizabeth Furnace sixty-three years ago and is survived by a wife and three brothers who are: Rev. S. Domer, D.D., of Washington, D.C.; G. W. Domer, a civil engineer of the same place, and D. D. Domer, traveling passenger agent of the Pennsylvania railroad company, with headquarters at Pittsburgh. The deceased previous to the breaking out of the war was chief clerk of the maintenance of way department of the Pennsylvania railroad. When the call for troops was made he resigned his position and enlisted as a member of the original Anderson troop. At the close of the war he was connected with the Pittsburgh, Chicago and St. Louis railroad, and after some years of service with this company embarked in business in Pittsburgh.
