All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ CHARLES DONOGHUE, Formerly of this city, died of dropsy and Bright's disease, at his home in Buffalo, Tuesday afternoon. In early life he was employed as a fireman on the Pittsburg division and was once badly injured by the blowing up of a locomotive. His engineer, a Mr. Findley, was killed. The deceased was 49 years of age and had afterward followed contracting. He directed the work on Altoona's first water works. He is survived by his wife, Ida, and a son, John, of Buffalo; three brothers, John, Timothy and James, and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Kearney and Miss Mary Donoghue, all of this city. The remains were brought to this city today and taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Maggie Kearney, 1512 Seventh avenue. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock; services in Sacred Heart church; interment in St. John's cemetery. Altoona Mirror, January 30, 1896
