DOUGHERTY Aged Pleasant Valley Woman Dies at Home Mrs. Martha Ellen Dougherty, 95, died at 4.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Verna Rabold of 1300 South Sixteenth street, with whom she resided. She had been a resident of Altoona for the past 87 years. Mrs. Dougherty was born near Westover, Clearfield county, June 19, 1857, a daughter of John and Catherine (Keirn) McKee, and married John Dougherty March 20, 1877. Mr. Dougherty died in 1922. Ten children were born to the marriage. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Rabold, Mrs. Dora Hoefler, James B. and Jacob A., all of Altoona; 20 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Dora Hammel of Lockport, N.Y. Mrs. Dougherty had been a member of the First E.U.B. church for the past 80 years and served as president of the Ladies' Aid society there for 34 years. Until recently she met each week with the society to quilt at the church. Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary at (?) o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, October 21, 1952
