DOWNING

  Rev. George W. Downing, a former pastor of the Memorial Baptist 
church of this city, died on Friday morning at his home in Germantown, 
near Philadelphia.  Rev. Downing has been retired for a number of 
years.  He had filled many important charges in the Baptist church in 
the state.  Thomas Downing of Lock Haven, is a son.
