Drass, aged 20 months, died yesterday afternoon at half-past 1 o'clock at the residence of the parents, John and Lala Drass, 2209 Eighth avenue. On Wednesday afternoon the child was playing about the kitchen, his mother having gone out for a brief time, when it is supposed that his clothing caught fire from a spark from the stove. The flames burned his face slightly, inflicting injuries of a painful but not serious character, but it is thought he inhaled the flames and it was from the effects of this that he died yesterday afternoon. The body was removed to the home of the grandfather, Mr. John R. Vaughn, 2012 Eighth avenue, from where the funeral will take place at an hour to be announced in tomorrow's paper. The deceased was an especially interesting child and the parents are deserving of the sympathy which has been expressed for them. The accident was one of those unavoidable ones, but it is none the less sad. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, December 5, 1890 Local Brevities. The funeral of Percy F., son of John and Lala Drass, will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of the grandfather, John R. Vaughn, 2012 Eighth avenue. To proceed to Sacred Heart chapel, at Twenty-fourth street, where services will be held. Interment in St. John's cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, December 8, 1890
