Duff, 86, formerly of Tyrone and a resident of Fort Myers, Fla. since 1983, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at The Lakes Assisted Living Community, Fort Myers, Fla. He was born January 23, 1917 in Richmond, Va., a son of the late Wilbur O. and Elizabeth (Pierson) Duff. He was married three times being preceded in death by his first two wives, Marie M. and Doris W. Surviving is his wife Lorena Duff of The Lakes Assisted Living Community, two daughters, Donna M. Waite and husband Eugene of Altoona, Sally A. Maceno of Tyrone, three grandchildren, Melissa A. McCaulley of Tyrone, Phillip J. Maceno III of Sewell, NJ. and Shane Maceno and wife Tricia of Altoona, four great-grandchildren, Christopher S. and Katelyn A. McCaulley and Kyler J. and Noah Maceno. He is also survived by two sisters, Thelma Hopkins and husband Donald of Tyrone and Evelyn McCoy of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and William. Mr. Duff returned [retired] in 1972 from the Tyrone Post Office as assistant postmaster. He was previously employed at Weller's Clothing Store and Herrington's Service Station both of Tyrone and also worked for the Tyrone School District in the maintenance department. He was of Methodist faith and was a 1936 graduate of Tyrone High School. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the Army National Guard in 1977. Memorial services will be held Saturday April 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Charles Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at Charlottesville Cemetery.
