He retired at 11 o'clock after spending the evening with the members of his family, singing hymns and fifteen minutes later was dead in bed. There was no premonition of the impending dissolution, he having been apparently in good health when he retired. Physicians pronounced his sudden demise as due to heart disease. Mr. Duncan had been a resident of Juniata Park for about eighteen months, previous to removing there having been employed as a machinist in Pittsburg. The operation of the Pennsylvania railroad pension plan prevented him from obtaining employment in this city at his vocation. Deceased was born in -------, England, August 1, 1853, and was at death aged 53 years, 11 months and 22 days. He has been a resident of America for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann ------ Duncan and five children: William of Wilkinsburg, John, Maurice, -----, Misses Jessie and Mary at home. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the late residence. Altoona Mirror, September 24, 1906, Page 12
