All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ GEORGE LECKY DUTROW, A well known Altoona yard engineer and a native of this city, died at 11.15 o'clock this morning at his home at 109 Lexington avenue, of a complication of diseases, after an illness covering a period of several months. He had been bedfast for seven weeks. Deceased was the son of Josiah and Charlotte Dutrow and was born in Altoona on Jan. 17, 1878. He was reared in the city, on leaving school entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company as a fireman in the yard and some years ago became an engineer. He was a member of the First United Brethren church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the P.R.R. Relief association. He enjoyed the esteem of a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Hartle Dutrow and two children, Mrs. Dorothy Springer and Frank at home, his parents and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Nicodemus of Altoona; Mrs. Viola Vance of Cleveland; David Dutrow of Altoona and Charles Dutrow of St. Louis. The remains may be viewed after 5 o'clock, Thursday. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, 23 September 1925 Funeral services for the late George L. Dutrow will be conducted at the residence, 109 Lexington avenue, at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. B. F. Bungard, pastor of the First United Brethren church, will officiate.
